Streets Named For People
Many streets in Mount Prospect are named after famous people from Illinois and Mount Prospect. Emerson Street was named in honor of Illinois Governor Emmerson, even though his name was misspelled. Wille Street was named after William Wille who built the Central School and constructed and ran Wille Hall and Wille Tavern. Lams Court and Pendleton Place are named for 1950’s Mount Prospect Mayors Theodore Lams and Maurice Pendleton.
